Our group works on the biogenesis and function of iron-sulfur proteins in mitochondria, cytosol and nucleus of yeast and human cells. We use methods from molecular genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and structural biology to understand the mechanisms underlying the complex assembly processes of iron-sulfur clusters and their insertion into apoproteins. We are also interested in the so-called “FeS diseases”.
