The Ukrainian Research Institute of Archival Affairs and Records Keeping, The Ukrainian Research Institute of Archival Affairs and Records Keeping

Considering ways to strengthen the research capabilities of scientific institutions is crucial to foster a more effective scientific community both during and after the war. Currently, our Institute requires additional funding, particularly donations for essential equipment to digitize documents, including:

-\tScanners (5 units)

-\tPrinters (4 units)

-\tUninterruptible power supplies (UPS) (6 units)

-\tComputer cases (5 units)

-\tComputer peripherals (mouse, keyboards)

In addition, access to scientific literature necessary for conducting innovative research is essential. One of the priority journals is «Comma» (https://www.ica.org/en/comma-0), which has a high subscription cost. Therefore, we are looking for additional opportunities to get a subscription to this journal.

Furthermore, the following items are necessary for the upgrading of the institute's infrastructure:

-\tBookshelves (5 units)

-\tClosets (15 units)

-\tKitchen tables (3 units)

-\tDesks (15 units)

-\tRecycling bins (12 units)

About the Institution

The Ukrainian Research Institute of Archival Affairs and Records Keeping was founded in 1994 as a state scientific research institution specializing in conducting theoretical research in archival affairs and records keeping. The Institute primarily focuses on coordinating the activities of state archives, publishing specialized periodicals, fostering international cooperation with relevant organizations, hosting conferences, symposiums, seminars, and enhancing the qualifications of specialists in the field of archival affairs and records keeping.

Due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the Institute has been faced with additional challenges to continue its activities effectively. Thus, there is a need to protect the cultural heritage, specifically through the digitization of numerous documents and the establishment of a digital collection. Additionally, the Institute is currently providing accommodation for 6 internally displaced persons.
