The Center needs additional financial resources for service maintenance and modernization of the scanning electron microscope Zeiss EVO 40-XVP (Zeiss, Germany). We are also interested in the implementation of research infrastructure projects that will provide financial opportunity to purchase the latest microscopes - scanning electrochemical (SECM), atomic force (AFM) and optical metallographic.
The Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment at the Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine entitled "Center for Electron Microscopy and X-Ray Microanalysis" (https://www.ipm.lviv.ua/collective_use_center.php) has been operating continuously since 2006 on the basis of the Department of Corrosion and Corrosion Protection. The center supports Ukrainian scientists in conducting scientific research in the field of materials science, metal corrosion and electrochemistry, in particular the study of surface morphology, chemical composition and microstructure of various materials. Currently, the Center needs additional financial resources for service maintenance and modernization of the scanning electron microscope Zeiss EVO 40-XVP (Zeiss, Germany). We are also interested in the implementation of research infrastructure projects that will provide financial opportunity to purchase the latest microscopes - scanning electrochemical (SECM), atomic force (AFM) and optical metallographic.
The main components of the research infrastructure: •\tscanning electron microscope Zeiss EVO 40-XVP (Zeiss) with an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDX) INCA Energy 350 (Oxford Instruments) and a detector for the analysis of inverted electron diffraction patterns (EBSD) (AZtec HKL Advanced system based on the Nordlys Nano detector) from Oxford Instruments; •\tLECO DH603 hydrogen analyzer for determining hydrogen content in metals and alloys; •\telectrochemical impedance spectroscopy on Versastat 3 (AMETEK SI) and Gill AC (ACM Instruments) potentiostats; •\ttribological and tribocorrosion tests of metals and alloys in different environments according to standardized and original methods.; •\tsupport equipment– Retsch PM 100 planetary ball mill, JFC-1600 (JEOL) sample spraying unit, Struers Labopol-5 grinding and polishing equipment. Keywords: scanning electron microscope (SEM), EDX- and EBSD- analysis, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), analysis of hydrogen content in metals.
