Due to reduced funding, we cannot afford to purchase Hematology Analyzer for automatic counting of erythrocytes, platelets and leukocytes. This device is now very necessary for us to carry out research, and experiments of our PhD-students.
The Educational and Scientific Institute of Applied Pharmacy is a department of the National University of Pharmacy. The Institute works in the following areas: 1) conducting scientific research for the pharmaceutical sector of the health care industry; 2) organization, coordination and training of higher education applicants; 3) formation of professional pharmaceutical competencies; 4) implementation of educational programs for the integration of science and education at all educational and scientific levels.
In 2021-2022, more than 40 studies of potential medicines were conducted on the basis of the institute (including hemostatics, which are now used for practical application). Now the institute is conducting research on governmental projects, but, because of Russian invasion, research has become difficult. Funding was reduced, 80% of employees were forced to leave and many experimental samples were damaged in the early days of the war. Several buildings of the institute have been temporarily donated to a volunteer organization. Constant power and water cuts make it difficult for the research team to work, all research is driven by the few remaining scientists and PhD students.
