We offer a position at the Institute for Chemistry and Bioanalytics at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland Campus Muttenz.

The team Proteins and Enzymes (Prof. Dr. Georg Lipps) focuses on on Protein Chemistry and Microbiology. We express, purify, and characterize proteins and we also modify proteins to make them more suitable for technical applications. A second topic relates to the human gut microbiome, which we are investigating in view of colonic delivery of drugs and to improve the gut health. We are currently investigating: replication enzymes, such as primases; the Alkaline Phosphatase as immunoreagent; protein ligases; vaccines against antibiotic resistant bacteria; consortia simulating the proximal gut; colonic delivery of drugs.

Requirements:

a) you are already in Switzerland

b) you have "S" protection status for refugees or are in the process of obtaining it

c) you speak English or German at level B2

d) have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree

e) have sufficient experimental laboratory experience
