The pharmacoepidemiology group of Dr. Burden offers support for Master, PhD, Post-docs or senior scientists from Ukraine for a period of at least 3-months. Research activities include pharmacovigilance, clinical pharmacoepidemiology, and clinical pharmacy practice research. We have a focus on chronic musculoskeletal and metabolic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, and obesity. Within the group we can provide access to resources (computer/office space) and access to large electronic medical record data from the UK, which can be used for pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiologic studies. Skills learned would include observational study methodology, critical appraisal skills in observational medical literature, statistical coding, and scientific writing. Salary funding may be possible.
