About the Institution

I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) is a higher medical educational institution and a centre of biomedical research and training. Our staff provides high-quality professional medical training to domestic and international students (around 7000  and 40% from foreign countries before the war) in the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and International Students, Institutes of Nursing and Postgraduate Education, trains paramedics and specialists in Public Health.

We are experienced in higher education capacity-building Erasmus+ projects (BACE, REHAB, SAFEMED+) and collaborate with our partners in several research areas as a study of tick-borne diseases, immunodeficiency studies, stem cell effects in different pathology,

study of the post-COVID-19 convalescent period and role of endothelial dysfunction in outcomes, etc.

We have well-equipped laboratories for immunohistochemistry study, a PCR lab, and microbiological lab with Vitec2 Compact 15 ID/AST instrument, a laboratory for ultrastructural investigation (with a transmission electron microscope), Cell Culture Unit that grows and studies mesenchymal stem cells.
